I think this car couldn't exist (in its current form) if it were to be built to U.S. auto regulations. I think many manufacturers don't make a U.S. compatible car anymore because it'd be like watering down the brand. One for the U.S. and one for the rest of the world. Or even making one for the whole world that complied with U.S. and every other nation's regulations would ruin it for everybody else. And if they know the car is going to sell well no matter what, who gives a fuck about U.S. regulations? Sure as hell not the japanese manufacturers.

Another reason why the U.S. probably can't get this car:
Ricers. They'll let the exclusive-ness of this car stay in play when it's legal for import 25 years. Hopefully ricing will have died out by then.
